"Who ever says truffle, pronounces a great word, which awakens erotic and gourmand ideas both in the sex dressed in petticoats and in the bearded portion of humanity." J. A. Brillat-Savarin, 1825
A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the 2010 festival. Our French visitors Pierre Sourzat and Jacques Ratier and author Michael Sanders were magnificent, we ate beautiful truffle meals and drank gorgeous Oregon wines all weekend, and almost every dog in the truffle dog training seminar found truffles after 1.5 days of working with our superb trainers, Jim Sanford of Blackberry Farm in Tennessee and Jean Rand from Eugene.
Speaking of Blackberry Farm, we are pleased and excited to be presenting Oregon truffles to their guests February 5, 6, and 7 with our dear friend and Grand Truffle Dinner host Chef Rocky Maselli of Marche in Eugene. We'll have lots of stories and pictures of 2010 coming soon, and are already looking forward to hosting our Italian friends in 2011. If you'd like to be on a list for updates and announcements for 2011, please go to our information page and send us a note.
The Oregon Truffle Festival, held in and around Eugene Oregon over three brisk winter days from January 29-31, 2010, celebrates the magnificent Oregon truffles as they reach the peak of ripeness in their native soil. It is the first festival of its kind in North America, dedicated to sharing the experience of the chefs, foragers and fans of Oregon's wild truffles, from their hidden source in the forest to their glory on the table.
